Thai Visa Run
Quick
an expat visa service in central Bangkok
/>
Foreigners who come to Thailand normally will get a 30 days arrival visa in their passport. A 10 day extension can be done at immigration in Bangkok, but it will cost you 1,900 baht. This can almost ruin your day by queuing, traveling and handling all the paperwork with your passport at the Bangkok Immigration office. If you are willing to stay longer in Thailand, then you have to leave the country and return back again.
Most foreigners in Bangkok will go to Cambodian borders, turn around and return back to Thailand on the same day. The most well-known border is called Aranyaprathet on the Thailand side, and called Poi-Pet on the Cambodian side of the border.
But we don't go there!
Because Aranyaprathet is so well-known, many people go there everyday, plus, the local Thai gamblers go to the Casinos on the Cambodian side as well. Just imagine a long queue in front of you on a very hot sunny day without any shelter, or on an overcast day, it suddenly begins to rain.
In order to do a visa run in one day, most people have to leave home early, between 5:00 to 7:00 in the morning. It will take about 4 hours to get there, an average of 2 hours spent at the Aranyaprathet border, then another 4 hours back to Bangkok. Most probably, you will arrive in Bangkok about 5:00 in the evening. It is too late for work, and too early to go out.
We leave at 9:30 in the morning
...which gives you a decent nights sleep and time for a proper breakfast. Because we don't go to Aranyaprathet, we only spend less than 30 minutes at the border, no waiting, no queuing and no hassles at all. We will return back to Bangkok around 6:30 in the evening.
- No more Aranyaprathet / Poi-Pet!
- No more early leaving!
- No more queuing up!
- No more hassles at the border!
